And what shall I love, if not the enigma? Interactive installation, 660 x 368 cm For this exhibition, I realized an interactive installation that paid homage to the rhizomatic quality of the enigma. Taking to heart Chirico’s appropriation of Nietzsche’s maxim, I sought to formalize the intoxicating process of layering question upon question, generating an expanding labyrinth. My aim was to materialize the lived experience of inquiry: each thought leading to another, forming rhizomes and pathways, hitting dead ends, turning back, sprouting anew. The result was an active chessboard where visitors were invited to play Bishop, letting their gaze progress along diagonal lines, and arriving at one of eight numbered exits. They corresponded to an equal number of poems on the opposite wall, along with a page to reply to the poem addressed to the Munich oracle.
